The Shoremen play a powerful style of traditional bluegrass along with an occasional contemporary instrumental.  Strong harmonies, impeccable rhythm and overall musicianship put this band in a class of their own.  Each member of The Shoremen brings a wealth of bluegrass experience to the group.  The members have all performed nationally with respective bands.

Dave MacGlashan: Bass & Vocals
Dave is a twenty-year veteran to Bluegrass Music.  His Bass playing is rock solid like players Barry Bales of Alison Krauss and Union Station and Byron House of the Sam Bush Band.  He has performed with the likes of Mike Auldridge, Jimmy Gaudreau, Emory Lester and Mac Wiseman just to name a few.  Along with the bass, Dave is a very accomplished banjo player.  Dave has released two (2) cd’s with national act Bill Yates and Friends/County Gentlemen Tribute Band and a cd with former regional band Shenandoah Blue.  Dave has worked with Norman Wright and the Travelers, The Gary Ferguson Band, Shenandoah Blue, The Dede Wyland Band and Bill Yates and Friends.

Marc MacGlashan: Mandolin & Vocals
Marc is a World Class mandolinist, accomplished guitarist and unknown excellent fiddler.  Marc has won numerous awards and praise for his playing.  These awards include Deer Creek’s 1989 Fiddlers Convention First Place Mandolin Award, Queen Anne’s County Arts Council 1991 Grant Recipient and the 1993 Merle Watson Festival 1st Place Mandolin Winner.  Marc grew national fame with his four year touring with ‘The Gibson Brothers’ in which time Marc recorded three albums with the Gibson Brothers and played twice on the Grand Ole Opry.  The band held the number one album spot numerous times on Bluegrass Unlimited Top Twenty.

Chuck Van Meter: Guitar & Vocals
Hearing Chuck play will make you think of the great Tony Rice and the late / great Clarence White.  Chuck’s impeccable rhythm and great tone signify Chuck’s playing.  Chuck performed and recorded with popular Bluegrass band, “Blue Daze” for eighteen years. Chuck handles most of the lead vocals for The Shormen.

Mark Delaney: – Banjo
Mark is a native of Maryland and began playing the banjo seriously at the age of eleven under the tutelage of his Kentucky born grandfather.  Mark’s inventive approach to Scruggs style playing made him a favorite with bluegrass audiences in the Washington-Baltimore area.  An exceptional musician, Mark (like our other Marc) plays many instruments including mandolin, bass and piano.  Mark has worked with Norman Wright and The Travelers, Darren Beachley and The Maryland Line, Badly Bent, The Patuxent Partners, and The Good Deal Bluegrass Band.  Highlights in Mark’s career include appearances with bluegrass legends Charlie Waller and Buzz Busby, as well as recording with Mike Auldridge and Frank Wakefield.

Nate Grower: – Fiddle
Nate is a young fiddle phenomenon.  Nate recently returned from a tour with Audie Blaylock and Redline in Branson, Missouri.  Nates playing pulls from such greats as Stuart Duncan, Mark O’Connor, Jon Glik and Bobby Hicks.  Nate electrifies crowds with his breath taking solos.
